About us
We are a small team of experts. Conceptual design is a knowledge intensive function and requires specialist knowledge of user research methods, interaction design, and product innovation which we have in our team. Our strengths include divergent thinking and multidisciplinary research, and the ability to analyse incomplete, uncertain, qualitative data and synthesize it into tangible/intangible offerings.
We believe in exploiting our strength in conceptual design by being agile, curious, knowledge driven, while we outsource design research and development aspects to our trusted network of vendors.
Soumitra Bhat (Interaction Design)
Soumitra has executed research and design projects in various domains such as consumer goods, sports equipment, telecommunication, sustainable products and services, base-of-the-pyramid, retail environments, assistive technology, learning aids, e-commerce and enterprise software for some of the leading brands in these areas including Philips, T-Mobile, Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems. A distinguished researcher and a creative designer, Soumitra has presented his designs and research at centers like the MIT Media Lab, Cambridge, and in conferences on technology and design. Soumitra has a MSc. degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the Delft University of Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.

Carolien Klep (Innovation Management)
Carolien has over 5 years of experience as a design consultant. She concentrates on user driven innovative products and services, online as well as offline. She has been working on a vast range of web, desktop and mobile applications and products for consumer goods, e-commerce, e-learning, banking, NGO’s and various services in the transportation sector. She has worked with companies like HP, Dell Europe, Indiatimes.com, Amadeus, Oxfam Netherlands (NGO), RailInfra Opleidingen, KennisCast, Boerenstadswens (NGO).
Her specialty lies in delivering strategic advice and conceptual design with specific attention to usability, sustainability and social dynamics.
Carolien has a M.Sc. degree in Product Innovation Management, and a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the Technical University of Delft.

Kalyani Mehendale (Business Design)
Kalyani comes with close to eight years of experience in Marketing Communication, Branding and Strategic Design. Her 360 degree approach to any problem is a result of the combination of her creative and business sensibilities, which help her gain in-depth insights about market dynamics.
During her master’s course in Italy, she worked on an array of Strategy projects for Samsung, Sunstar, Piquadro and Deborah. She also worked on Strategic Planning & Branding for Social and Institutional projects and New Businesses. Earlier, in India, she was incharge of Marketing Communications, Advertising and Branding at Sapat Tea (Mumbai), followed by heading Business Development at Spur Mumbai. She has had the opportunity to live and work in four different countries in the last five years, which has in turn given her tremendous exposure and enriched her knowledge of their respective creative industries.
Kalyani graduated with a Bachelor’s in Visual Communication (Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai). She also completed her Bachelor’s in Commerce (University of Pune) followed by a Diploma in Marketing Management (NMIMS, Mumbai) before completing her Master’s in Business Design from the Domus Academy in Milan.
